'JAWS' swim with sharks boosts Kingsclere charity funds

Louise Adams, aged 17, of Thatcham, recently swam with sharks at the Blue Planet Aquarium in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, raising £500 for the Rodney Lawrence Trust.
Miss Adams is the niece of Marie Lawrence and her husband John, the parents of the late Rodney, of Union Lane, who drowned, aged three, in his family’s garden pond three years ago.
The Lawrences have since formed the trust to benefit and support children of the village and from the surrounding local area.
Mrs Lawrence said: “Since Rodney died, Louise has had a fear of water, and she wanted to raise money for the trust and overcome that fear.
Mrs Lawrence said that Louise was quite alarmed during the swim to see a shark right above her head, but the instructors reassured her to make it a positive experience.
