Jewellery thieves struck twice in Newbury in one day
Police search for witnesses after thousands of pounds worth of goods were stolen
JEWELLERY totalling thousands of pounds has been stolen after thieves struck twice in a matter of hours at two properties in Newbury.
Between 12.15pm and 2pm on Tuesday, February 8, offenders gained entry to a property in Chandos Road via the kitchen window, where they proceeded to take:
- one pair of round shaped black opal earrings
- a 1915 sapphire and diamond five stone ring, a gold Edwardian pendant, a gold Zirconium stone eternity ring
- a 22 carat gold heart-shaped locket
- a silver ring
- a nine carat gold cross
The valuables were in total valued at around £1,200.
Between 2.15pm and 4.10pm on the same day, offenders focred open a back door to a property in Benett Close, where the following items of jewellery were taken:
- two silver brooches, one with a swirly pattern and the other with stone
- oval-shaped engraved gold cuff-links
- a silver chain necklace with pearls
- a nine carat gold locket with rope edging and a ruby cluster in the centre on a chain.
- cash and two cameras
The total value of the stolen goods was estimated at around £4,400.
