Three McDonald’s restaurants in Newbury are recruiting for new staff, with 50 positions currently available.

The restaurant chain is seeking hard-working people from the local community who may be looking for a new opportunity.

McDonald’s franchisee Ross Drake who runs the Northbrook Street McDonald’s restaurant in Newbury, said: “To make sure we continue to create an outstanding customer experience, we believe in investing in local people through our industry-leading training programmes and career opportunities.

“I’m passionate about training and development and am proud to offer such a wide variety of opportunities to my staff.

“To some people, it might not seem like the most obvious place to start your career however with more than £43m being invested into training programmes each year, we have a lot to offer.

“All McDonald’s staff have access to McDonald’s nationally-recognised accredited qualifications, from apprenticeships all the way up to a foundation degree in managing business operations.

“To date, McDonald’s has awarded over 17,700 apprenticeships and 146 managers have successfully graduated.

“We also offer a great degree of flexibility when it comes to hours, to allow for individuals to work, and develop alongside education, or childcare – whatever works best for them.”

Steph Judge is an assistant manager at the Northbrook street restaurant in Newbury.

She said “I’ve been working for McDonald’s for 25 years. I am incredibly lucky to work for such a supportive employer and am so thankful for the flexibility that they’ve given me when it comes to juggling work around having a family.

“The development opportunities the business offers are fantastic and I’ve been nurtured throughout my time here, where I started as a crew member working on the tills.

“Working within such a supportive team environment where hard work is really rewarded is incredibly motivating.

“My colleagues aren’t just my colleagues, they’re my friends.”

A recruitment open day is taking place on Monday, November 23, from 3pm to 8pm at the Northbrook Street restaurant. You can have a tour of the restaurant and find out more about the various roles.
