John Lennon interview sells for £2,000




Auctioneers in West Berkshire sell the rare interview in which the former Beatle suspects his phone is bugged

A RARE John Lennon interview in which the former Beatle reveals his suspicions that his telephone was being bugged by the American Government has been sold at a West Berkshire auction.

The recording of the interview, which took place in 1974 and is thought be the only one in existence, has been sold at Cameo Fine Art Auctioneers, Bath Road, Midgham, for £2,000.

During the 14 minute interview Lennon reveals his suspicions that his phone is being bugged by the Nixon administration and talks about his struggle to obtain a green card to allow him to continue living in New York.
