Reading Magistrates' Court: Arrest warrant for Burghfield Common man




A JUDGE has ordered the immediate arrest of a man accused of crashing a vehicle after taking it without the owner's permission.

To make matters worse, he is also accused of having drunk more than twice the legal limit at the time.

Edgaras Miksys had been due in the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court to answer the charges on Tuesday, October 25.

The 36-year-old, of Charlie Brown Road in Burghfield Common, is said to have taken a Range Rover without the owner's consent and crashing it into a Mercedes GLC 300, causing damage worth at least £5,000.

In addition, he is charged with driving after drinking more than the legal limit.

Tests are said to have shown 74mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.

The legal limit is 35mcg.

Next, Mr Miksys is accused of driving without insurance on Wednesday, March 9.

Finally, he faces a charge of driving without a valid licence.

All the above offences were said to have been committed in Mortimer.

Mr Miksys did not attend court as required and district judge Samuel Goozee issued a warrant for his immediate arrest.
