Reading Crown Court: Judge issues warrant for sex offender

A JUDGE has ordered the immediate arrest of a man who carried out a string of sex offences.

Bogdan Pascal had been due to be sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Monday morning, August 15.

The 40-year-old had initially pleaded not guilty to sexually touching a woman without her consent.

However, he has since changed his mind and admitted the offence.

Pascal further admitted outraging public decency by exposing himself.

Both those offences were committed on Oxford Road and Northbrook Street in Newbury on Sunday, January 23.

Finally, he admitted committing a further offence during the period of a suspended prison sentence imposed by Slough magistrates for possessing a knife and sexually assaulting a woman.

At a hearing in June, Reading magistrates told Pascal, who lives in Cumberland Avenue, Slough, that the matters were so serious they must be dealt with by a judge sitting at Reading Crown Court.

He was meanwhile granted bail with conditions and forbidden from entering Newbury and from contacting two named female victims.

At Monday's hearing, Pascal's defence team said their client was not present; that they had had no contact with him and no instructions as to why he had not attended.

Shona Probert, prosecuting, asked the judge to issue a warrant for Pascal's immediate arrest.

Judge Amjad Nawaz did so and adjourned the case until Pascal is found and taken into custody.

Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, Bogdan Pascal, 39, has been charged with one count each of exposure and sexual assault.

The charges are in connection with two incidents that occurred on Oxford Road and Northbrook Street in Newbury on January 23.

A MAN has been sent to the crown court for sentencing after admitting a string of sex offences.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, June 21, was Bogdan Pascal.
