Reading Magistrates' Court: Newbury flasher jailed
A MAN who indecently exposed himself has been sent to prison.
In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, December 21 last year, was Luke Miles.
The 29-year-old from Newbury, said to have been of no fixed address, admitted intentionally exposing his genitals intending that someone would see them and be caused alarm or distress.
Mr Miles was further charged with being drunk and disorderly on the same occasion but this was withdrawn by the prosecution.
Finally, he pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer in the course of his duty.
The offences happened on December 21 last year.
Mr Miles, who was represented by Catherine Brymer, was jailed for 20 weeks.
District judge Samuel Goozee said a custodial sentence was necessary because Mr Miles had shown a "flagrant disregard for court orders" in the past.
No order for costs was made because of his lack of means to pay but Mr Miles was ordered to pay a statutory victim services surcharge.
Finally, he was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for seven years.
