Judge Jules and Ministry of Sound Orchestra to headline Newbury Racecourse's Party in the Paddock this summer

One of music's best known names is bringing a classical twist to dance hits at Newbury Racecourse this summer.

Judge Jules and the Ministry of Sound Orchestra have been announced as the latest Party in the Paddock act.

The famous dance brand celebrated its 30th anniversary last year and the party is set to continue at Newbury, when racegoers will enjoy some of the biggest dance tracks of the past three decades.

Judge Jules said: “I have been a part of Ministry Classical shows before at the Royal Festival Hall and The O2 and I’ve done some marvellous venues that I’d never imagined. If you add the right records to an orchestration, and the magic of an orchestra to an amazing outdoor venue like Newbury Racecourse, I think it’s a really magical combination.”

Harriet Collins, marketing director for Newbury Racecourse, added: “We are extremely excited to announce that Ministry of Sound Classical will be taking to the stage live after racing on 13 August.

"We are really looking forward to welcoming the 34-piece orchestra to the stage for what promises to be a brilliant evening of classic dance tunes, which for a lot of us will be rolling back the years.

"To top it off, having Judge Jules provide a warm-up set is sure to get the crowd going after an afternoon of top-quality racing action. We can’t wait.”

Ministry of Sound opened in London in 1991 and was the first house music nightclub in the country.

This latest show recreates classical forms of the music that has defined the brand across its three decades with the London Concert Orchestra.

Judge Jules, who first hit the decks in 1987, has since received accolades such as #1 DJ, Best International DJ, Best Radio DJ and peaked at number three in DJ Mag's top 100 poll.

Tickets are on sale now at newburyracecourse.co.uk

The show will take place after racing on Saturday, August 13 - the BetVictor Hungerford Day - with Judge Jules on from 5.30pm until 6.30pm and the Ministry of Sound Orchestra taking over from 7pm until 8.30pm.

Newbury Racecourse has previously announced Craig David will be headlining Party In The Paddock on Saturday, July 16.
