Kate and William on honeymoon
St James's palace has confirmed that the couple has left, but would not confirm the location
THE new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have set off on a two-week honeymoon at a secret location, thought to be somewhere in the Indian Ocean.
According to national news reports, it is believed that the couple, who married just over a week ago at Westminster Abbey, flew out in a private jet last night (Monday) and could be staying at an exclusive villa that will cost as much as £4,000 per night on an idyllic tropical island.
St James's Palace would not confirm the destination, but a palace spokesperson confirmed that Prince William has now taken two weeks leave from his operational duties as a a flight lieutenant in the RAF's Search and Rescue squad, saying: "We are not confirming and we are not commenting on speculation on where they may be going on their private honeymoon, we are just confirming that they have gone."
Meanwhile, the dutchess, whose family returned to their home in Chapel Row, Bucklebury, following the wedding, was recently spotted out shopping with her bodyguards at her local Waitrose supermarket in Anglesey, north Wales.
The Duke and Duchess have requested that their privacy be respected during their honeymoon.
