Kauto Star at charity raceday today (Sat)

Guests are invited to join in the fun by trotting to the pony riding zone and can jockey for a position on the British Racing School’s mechanical racehorse.
Two free tickets for members of a British Equestrian Federation discipline will be available for the day.
The event will feature an exclusive dressage performance from paralympic gold and silver medallist, Deborah Criddle, while event rider Laura Collett will perform with recently retired dual Gold Cup winner Kauto Star in a flat work demonstration as well as a jumping master class with World Class Performance Manager and Chef d’Equipe to the British Eventing team, Yogi Breisner.
Mr Breisner said: “I’m delighted to be returning to Newbury to host a schooling session again as it gives racegoers such a great insight into what’s involved at the highest level in British Eventing.
“This year we have the extra highlight of seeing Kauto Star who will demonstrate how naturally racehorses adapt to life after racing.”
The raceday is sponsored by Greatwood, a charity which raises money to provide fulfilling futures for retired racehorses and children with special educational needs through rehabilitation and educational programmes.
Managing Director Racecourse and Events, Stephen Higgins said: “This will be great day out, filled with equestrian family entertainment and exhilarating jump racing.
“We’re delighted to welcome special guests Yogi Breisner and Deborah Criddle and proud to be supporting such a great cause.”
