Keep yourself busy in West Berkshire today (Sat)
You could walk off some of those Christmas calories at Bowdown Woods from 10am in a walk organised by Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) Linking the Landscape project officer, whilst learning more about the trees on the reserve.
Learn to identify the trees in the winter by their bark, shape, and place; and learn about the different habitats within the woodland and the wildlife that lives there.
People are asked to wear warm clothes, waterproofs and sturdy shoes or boots.
The walk will take place between 10am and noon. Meet at the bomb site car park, off Bury’s Bank Road Grid Reference SU505653.
Of course, today it is the annual volunteer recruitment fair at Newbury Corn Exchange, from 10am to 3pm. For more on this, head back to newburytoday.co.uk where we have a more detailed article on what to expect.
In Purley, the farmer's market is running from 8.30am to 12noon in the big barn, next to the Goosecroft recreation ground in Beech Road.

Similar markets are also running today in Aldworth and Hamstead Marshall.
At 10.30am, join the West Berkshire Ramblers. They will be meeting in The Square, Ramsbury, at 10.30am for a leaisurely five-mile walk to Axford.
