Key A339 access road decision due tonight

Councillors to decide whether to use compulsory purchase powers to acquire land needed to deliver road

WEST Berkshire Council will tonight decide on whether to use its compulsory purchase powers to acquire land needed to deliver an access road from Faraday Road on to the A339.

The decision has twice been delayed due to blunders from council staff. If approved, the compulsory purchase order will involve demolishing unit 7 and part of unit 6 in Fleming Road, as well as obtaining a section of land in Victoria Park next to the A339.

The council needs to start work on the road in the next 12 months.
