The free event will be packed full of activities, fancy dress and family-friendly entertainment and taking place at Thatcham Broadway, the High Street and Turnfields Recreation Ground from 10am and 3pm.

St Mary’s Church will be opening its doors to the The Watermill Theatre, which will be running free drama workshops and theatre craft sessions for children aged four to 16. Spaces can be reserved for free on Thatcham Town Council’s website.

And Turnfields Recreation Ground will be hosting the Howden Under 5s Zone with a range of inflatables and an ice cream van and Juggling Jake, who will be running circus workshops.

Mayor of Thatcham, Suzanne Adamantos, said: “KidsFest will be a great opportunity for Thatcham families to have some fun and enjoy each other’s company before term-time begins.

“There’ll be plenty to do and see, it’ll truly be a great day for all the family.”

The Broadway will also be home to a variety of arts and crafts activities, from free t-shirt printing with Berkshire Print Makers to a free doodle zone with Magpie and the Mob.

A short live interactive comedy theatre performance will also be brought to the stage by Four Eyed Theatre, all about bottling up emotions.

The High Street will be closed to traffic and lined with games, craft stalls and charities.

And visitors shouldn’t forget to take part in the special superhero teddy bear treasure trail.

Keep an eye out for bears hiding in shop windows and note down each of the letters they hold.

Find the hidden word and be in with the chance of winning a secret prize.

And don’t miss out on entering the superhero fancy dress competition.

Come dressed as your favourite superhero, or create your own, and fly your way over to The Broadway for 2pm for the chance to win a prize.

The event is being sponsored by Howden Insurance, Picture It Framed and Gardner Leader.
