Kingsclere community library talk puts trauma under the microscope

VOLUNTEERS at Kingsclere Community Library are hoping for lots of support at a fundraising talk which puts the worldwide concern of trauma under the microscope on Wednesday evening (Jan 20)

Dr Daniela Sieff will host the talk:Understanding and Healing Emotional Trauma, examining what is trauma, how it is becoming increasingly widespread and the harm it causes, to individuals and communities.

The talk is recommended in particular to anybody interested in psychology, as well as for mental health professions and also for general interest to a wider audience.

Dr Sieff, who has a PhD in anthropology, has also published a book entitled: Understanding and Healing Emotional Trauma: Conversations with Pioneering Clinicians and Researchers and given talks on the topic at many institutions worldwide, including the Pacifica Graduate Institute (California).

The talk starts at 7.30pm at the George Street library, entrance situated left hand side of Kingsclere Village Club, in George Street, RG20 5NH.
