Kingsclere firefighters charity car wash

The national car wash is the charity's largest national fundraising event of the year. Motorists are invited to take their car along and have it washed in return for a donation to The Fire Fighters Charity, in aid of serving and retired fire service personnel and their families.
Area manager, Andy Bowers,of Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said as well as being a fun and popular event for the charity, the car wash also gave firefighters the opportunity to share safety messages with members of their local community:
“We are delighted that so many of our fire stations are getting involved and would urge local people to come along and support the day. Your valued donations will go towards helping thousands of men, women and children from the fire and rescue community during their times of need,” said Mr Bowers.
The fire service was hosting similar car washes at fire stations in Basingstoke, Fleet, Grayshott, Rushmoor and Winchester, also Cosham, Emsworth, Gosport, Havant and Southsea over the weekend.
The car wash at Kingsclere Fire Station, in George Street, is from 11am to 3pm.
