Kingsclere gardening club's summer show

Summer flower show in Kingsclere provides colourful displays of exhibits

COLOURFUL displays of flowers brightened the day at a garden show in Kingsclere on Saturday (July 2).

Kingsclere Gardening Club held a summer show at the Fieldgate centre, wth plenty of entries to browse.

"We had an excellent flower show with entries on a par with

last year, which considering the hot weather in the spring, was unexpected," said show secretary Laura Butler.

She added: "Beautiful sweet peas and roses brightened the day along with other flowers, pot plants, fruit, vegetables, handicraft and photography."

A plentiful array of cooking included an apple cake by Annette Taylor, judged the best exhibit in the cooking

class.

Afternoon visitors to the show included a French contingent from Kingsclere's twinned town of Cormicy.
