Kingsclere woman critical and man seriously injured in two Kingsclere collisions





This was followed by a further, three-vehicle collision on Monday afternoon (Jan 6) on the A339 just outside the village, in which a man received serious injuries and another man was arrested.
According to Hampshire Constabulary, a single-vehicle collision happened at about 3.45pm on Sunday afternoon (Jan 5) on the Cole Henley Road, between Kingsclere and Whitchurch, forcing a road closure for over four hours.
A silver Nissan Micra, driven by a 27-year-old woman, who was from Kingsclere, according to police, left the road and collided with hedges.
The woman, who sustained serious injuries, was taken to Southampton General Hospital, where she remained in a critical condition today (Wed), police have confirmed.
The road was closed between 3.45pm and 8pm while police conducted an examination of the scene and the vehicle.
Police were called to a second, three vehicle collision at around 5.35pm on Monday (Jan 6) on the A339 outside Sandford Springs golf club near Kingsclere.
A white Renault Kangoo van heading south towards Basingstoke was in collision with a blue Ford Fiesta and a grey Vauxhall Astra, both heading in the opposite direction.
The Fiesta driver, a 32-year-old, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital.
There were no other serious injuries.
The van driver, a 46-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit and bailed until February 25.
The road was closed until around 8.30pm to allow police to carry out a full investigation and recovery of vehicles at the scene.
Police continue to investigate the cause of both collisions and were appealing for witnesses.
