Speen's Lady Well blessing this weekend

The traditional procession and blessing of the Lady Well at Speen will take place this Sunday.

The event will take place at approximately 11.45am following the 10.30am patronal service of holy communion at St Mary’s Church.

There will be refreshments afterwards in the Majendie Hall.

The well, which is believed to date back to before 452AD, is traditionally thought to have water with healing properties.

It was refurbished in 1902 to commemorate the coronation of Edward VII.
