Lakeland signs up to Parkway
The kitchenware retailer will take over a 6,500 sq ft two-storey store at Newbury's Parkway development
ANOTHER new retailer has signed up to Newbury's Parkway development.
Home and kitchenware retailer, Lakeland, has signed a lease for a 6,500 sq ft two-storey store at the mixed-use residential and retail development, which is due to open in October.
The store, which will sell cooking equipment, novelty and gift products, joins anchor tenants Debenhams, H&M, New Look, Topshop and Jones the Bootmaker at the new development.
A second anchor store, John Lewis at home, is also expected to join the development after planning permission was recently given to reconfigure a part of Parkway to accommodate them, although final agreements have not yet been signed.
Development manager for Parkway's developers Standard Life Investments (SLI), Mike Nisbet, said: “We are delighted to add Lakeland to our exciting retailer line-up at Parkway and look forward to welcoming more new retailers to Newbury in the near future, as we push ahead with our plans to position Newbury as a major shopping destination.”
SLI have also recently confirmed that more than 50 per cent of the retail space in Parkway has already been exchanged or is in solicitors hands.
