FAMILIES flocked to Foxglove Farm at Great Common in Inkpen for its first ever lambing day.

Farmer Kathleen Davies said: "We opened the farm to help raise funds for Foxglove Care Farm Project and to share our knowledge of lambing and the importance of farming, food production and the environment.

"Posters and information were displayed around the farm for people to learn more about the links between farming and their food and there were group lambing tours with question and answer sessions.

"There were also tractor trailer tours which were very popular, with donations raising over £600 for DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee) Humanitarian appeal for Ukraine."

Meanwhile an art competition was held in conjunction with Inkpen Primary School with the theme of 'Spring' and the overall winner was Daisy Ross.

Ms Davies added: "All the pictures made a very colourful display in the polytunnel and an Easter egg hunt proved very popular with both children and adults."
