Lambourn Village calendar 2025 goes global!

LAMBOURN’S village calendar for 2025 has been published – and it’s gone international.

Former villagers are far afield as the US, Canada and New Zealand have already snapped up copies.

It was created by former Newbury Weekly News journalist Sara Bartlett and a box full has been delivered to Lambourn Universal Stores.

Ms Bartlett, who has lived in Lambourn with her husband Frank for a combined total of more than 70 years, said: “Lambourn has previously had a village calendar, which was photographed and produced for many years by Neil Robertson; however when he finally decided to step down, I wanted to continue this very popular tradition.

“Neil made a fabulous job of the calendar, and he’s given me good advice, and a steer, so it seemed like a great opportunity to give it go especially as Frank and I already have hundreds – possibly thousands – of pictures taken around Lambourn over the years.”

Meanwhile the calendars are already winging their way across the world.

Ms Bartlett added: “I was very excited to sell three copies in advance to a former Lambourn resident Lynda Gaines, who now lives in the US.

“Lynda always buys calendars for herself and her daughters to remind them of Lambourn.

“Her friend, Pat Mckay, picked them up from me, drove them to Swindon to give to a friend of Lynda’s who was flying over to the US to visit her.

“And I have just posted another to Australia.

“Others are going to Canada and New Zealand – it’s probably the most well-travelled calendar in West Berkshire!”

The calendar, which has been produced by Print Image of Marlborough, is in A4 size, opening out to A3.

It comes with an envelope and is being sold at Lambourn Universal Stores for £8.99.

Ms Bartlett said: “I’m just aiming to cover my costs, but if there is a surplus, I will be making a donation to charity.”
