Lane closure on A34

One lane of the southbound carriageway has been closed today (Monday) following an earlier incident

ONE lane of the southbound carriageway of the A34 has been closed this afternoon (Monday) following an earlier incident.

Police were called to the scene near the junction with the A343 shortly after 3pm, following reports of a broken down vehicle that had reportedly spilt oil on the carriageway.

The Highways Agency confirmed that they too had been called to the scene at about 4pm, after receiving reports of a spillage in lane one of the southbound carriageway.

A Highways Agency crew is currently at the scene assessing the situation and the lane currently remains closed.

According to the Highways Agency, normal traffic conditions are expected from about 6pm.
