The M4 is currently closed due to a large hydraulic fluid spillage across the carriageway.
The M4 eastbound between junction 15 at Swindon and junction 14 at Hungerford is likely to be closed throughout this morning (Thursday).
Delays are approximately 30 minutes and there are around 3 miles of congestion along the M4 leading to Swindon.
The diversion route is as follows.
Exit the M4 eastbound at J15 and turn left at the roundabout to join the A419 northbound.
At the Commonhead Roundabout, turn right and join the B4192 Purley Road southbound.
Continue on the B4192 southbound towards Eddington.
At the roundabout with the A338 Eddington Hill road, turn left and join the A338 northbound.
Continue northbound on the A338 towards Hungerford Newtown to then re-join the M4 eastbound at J14.
National Highways contractors will be carrying out emergency resurfacing works as the road surface has been significantly damaged by the spillage.
