Last chance for missing lotto 'millionaire'
The owner of the unclaimed EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle ticket worth £1million, which was bought in the West Berkshire area, is close to missing out on the life-changing windfall which expires at 11pm on Wednesday, June 20.
National Lottery organisers Camelot are unable to pinpoint exactly which outlet sold the ticket but confirmed it was bought in the run up to Chritmas last year in the special event EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle.
The winning ticket features the code FYK815210.
National Lottery spokeswoman Claire Smith said: “This ticket was bought over the Christmas period, so it’s possible that if the owner doesn’t actually live in West Berkshire, they could have been visiting friends or family in the area for the Christmas break.
“We’re not only urging everyone to double-check if they are the lucky holder of the ticket, but also to remind friends and family who may have come to visit during this time to check their tickets. Or mabe the ticket was a ‘secret Santa’ gift.”
Meanwhile local shoppers have been speculating on how they would spend the £1million if the ticket turned out to be theirs.
Newbury mother-of-one Donna Rennie, aged 29, said: "I know that if I had won I would not have misplaced the ticket and would be now on my way to Australia for our dream wedding.”
Twenty-year-old Amy Bryan from Thatcham said: "I have never been on a plane before or gone on a foreign holiday so I would use the money to make up for lost time.”
Gary Hayes, aged 54, from Newbury, said: "My children come first so if I won the lottery I would make sure they were all looked after. I have seven children aged between 20 and 11 years and I would use the money to help them with education fees and get their own homes.”
Newbury 23-year-old Charlotte Hartley said: "One million pounds would buy a very nice house for my boyfriend and I.”
If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline then the prize money, plus all the interest the prize has generated, will go to the National Lottery Good Causes.
Anyone who believes they have the winning ticket for any of the National Lottery draws within the 180-day deadline should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.
