Last day for adults to enter Bayer 10k

And if you are under 16, it’s not too late to enter now or on the day, as entries for the junior fun run will remain open for youngsters on the morning of the race providing the entry limit has not been reached.
Entries for the adult race closes today (19).
The race will take runners them from Market Place, up Northbrook Street and out of town on a multi-terrain circuit going through Speen, along the tow path and down Craven Road, before returning to the centre of town.
The children’s race take youngsters up Northbrook Street and around Parkway before returning to the start/finish line in the Market Place.
Under 12s will run 900 metres while the 12 to 15 year-olds will do a second loop of the course to complete 1,500 metres.
Max Macgregor from Bayer said: “We’re thrilled that so many runners have already entered the race.
"There are clearly a lot of people out there who have stuck to their task and put in the miles of training, despite really tough winter weather.
"With any luck they should finally be able to pack away the winter thermals and enjoy a really good morning out.
"We’re also really looking forward to staging the junior fun run, and would like to encourage as many youngsters as possible to give it a go.
"The junior race will be a great opportunity for those who’ve never run one before but want a flat and easy course to try for the first time.”
Race organisers, Bayer and Newbury Athletic Club (NAC) will station volunteer marshals at points around the course and in the Market Place, to ensure the runners take the right route and get around safely.
Tim Marsh, race director, of NAC said: “The number of entrants to the Bayer Newbury 10k has grown every year, and we were delighted to exceed last year‘s entry total some time ago.
Large numbers of volunteers are required on the day to marshal the route and help at the start and finish. If you’re able to help in aid of this great cause, please email us at

.”
This year’s nominated charity is Naomi House and jacksplace – the hospice which supports young people with life limiting conditions, and their families.
However, people are free to raise money for the charity of their choice.
