Latest: Fifty three schools to close tomorrow

MORE than half of the primary and secondary schools in West Berkshire are to close on Wednesday as a result of strike action.
West Berkshire Council has put the status of the schools caught up in the row over public sector pension reforms on its website, with at least 53 of the 95 schools affected and more expected to make the announcement tomorrow (Tuesday).
Several unions representing school staff, including headteachers and deputy headteachers, voted to join industrial action, meaning thousands of children across West Berkshire will have to miss a day of school.
The current list of schools closed on November 30 is:
Aldermaston Church of England Primary School will be partially closed; Years two and six are open.
Beedon Church of England Controlled Primary School
Bradfield Church of England Primary School
Brimpton Church of England Primary School
Brookfields Special School
Bucklebury Church of England Primary School
Calcot Infant School and Nursery
Calcot Junior School
Chieveley Primary School
Compton Church of England Primary School will be partially closed; FS and year one are open, year two open PM only, and year five AM only

Downsway Primary School will be partially closed; Years FS, one and five are open.

John Rankin Junior School will be partially closed; Upper school open only.
