Legend makes his marque at club event

Mr Turner’s career included stints as driver, navigator and competitions manager for some of Britain’s most successful marques.
Rallying was his first passion and he co-drove in factory cars for Austin Healey, Auto Union, MG, Mercedes, Saab and Triumph on major events like the Mille Miglia and the Monte Carlo rallies, winning the 1960 RAC Rally with Erik Carlsson.
The event was one of a series that the club is running over the year.
The club chairman Mike Kent said: “Stuart was a brilliant speaker providing a fascinating and highly entertaining insight into the world of competition motorsport and rallying.
"Last year visitors enjoyed more than 850 classic vehicles and we raised in excess of £8,000 for charity, a target we hope to break this year.”
The vehicle club is an active, multi-marque, classic group that meets once a month in Newbury, with a range of other social activities and vehicle meetings throughout the year.
