Legion branch arranges Paravacini concert
The widely-renowned autistic pianist, Derek Paravacini, will perform at St Nicolas Church in April
A CONCERT with the widely-renowned autistic pianist, Derek Paravacini, is to take place in Newbury in April to raise money for the Royal British Legion (RBL).
The Kintbury sub branch of the RBL has arranged the fundraising event at St Nicolas Church on Saturday, April 16 as part of the legion's national campaign to raise £90 million in the RBL's 90th birthday year.
Mr Paravacini, whose family lives in Lambourn, is blind, has severe learning difficulties and needs daily one-to-one care - but his musical genius has won him international acclaim and has seen him tour the USA and play at such venues as the Royal Albert Hall, Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street.
The concert, which will raise money for the benefit of bereaved families and the returning wounded from Afghanistan and Iraq, will start at 7.30pm.
Tickets are available priced at £20, which includes a glass of wine or a soft drink.
