Lib Dems unveil their candidate to become Newbury's next MP

Ms Bunting, a documentary producer from Twickenham was elected on Friday night by party members after beating three other hopefuls.
She told Newburytoday this morning: “I can’t tell you how much I am looking forward to this. We have a very active party in Newbury and I think we are going to have a great few years in the run up to the election.”
The Cambridge science graduate, who also teaches literacy and maths to disadvantaged children in London, announced that she plans to move to the area as soon as possible, ready to do battle for the Newbury seat in the 2015 elections, currently occupied by Conservative MP, Richard Benyon.
Ms Bunting was first named as a possible candidate for the town by Newburytoday's sister publication, the Newbury Weekly News two weeks ago.
Her election comes just weeks after former Prospective Parliamentary Candidate and town MP, David Rendel, revealed he would not be standing due to the General Election's likely clash with the four-yearly election of councillors for West Berkshire Council.
Ms Bunting added: “Newbury fits me like a glove. David Rendel has done a fantastic job here.”
Mr Rendel, who sat as Newbury MP from 1993 until 2005, pledged to offer as much support as possible to his successor: “Judith undoubtedly deserved to win, despite there being three other first class candidates.
“I look forward to giving her as much support as I can.”
Vice chairman of the Newbury Liberal Democrat Party, Tony Vickers, attributed her success in the election to her determined personality.
He said: “Her personality stood out, she was really keen to do the job.
“Our members took a keen interest in how the candidates presented the values we all share and how they would campaign to take those values into the local community.
“I’m sure Judith will produce results, she is the best person to lead the fight for liberal democracy across West Berkshire.”
