Lifesaving message in a bottle scheme
The Message in a Bottle Scheme encourages people to keep their basic personal and medical details in a common place, where they can easily be found in an emergency. Supported by the NHS, ambulance, police and fire services, the scheme, as the name suggests, involves keeping this information in a bottle and also in the fridge.
Emergency services will be alerted to the bottle by two labels – one is fixed discretely on the inside of the front door or the main entrance to your home and the other to the fridge door.
Newbury based home care providers, Bluebird Care are working with the Lions to promote the scheme across West Berkshire.
Bottles can be obtained free of charge for GP surgeries or local chemists.
Alternatively contact Bluebird Care, Newbury, telephone (01635) 36953 or the Lions Club, telephone 0845 8334754, to receive a bottle in the post.
