Aldermaston Lifting Bridge to close soon ahead of removal next year

A lifting bridge will be closed next weekend.

Aldermaston Wharf Bridge, in Aldermaston, will be closed from 7.30am on October 28 until October 29 at 5pm.

The closure is to allow Volkers Highways to carry out accommodation works for the removal of the lift bridge in January 2024.

An alternative route is available via Frouds Lane, A4 Bath Road and vice versa.

The environmental weight limit on Frouds Lane has been suspended for the duration of the closure.

Residential access will be maintained throughout, and the diversion will be signed on-site.
