The temporary order was made after Darren Finch, of Urquhart Road, admitted two charges of shoplifting.
The 42-year-old stole alcohol worth £16.78 on July 18 and alcohol worth £16.98 on October 10, both from the Co-op’s Station Road store in Thatcham.
Catherin Brymer, defending, said her client had been suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) since his brother died two years ago.
Magistrates adjourned sentencing and bailed Mr Finch until November 27 while reports are prepared.
He was bailed on condition he does not enter any of the retail giant’s outlets, anywhere in the UK, in the meanwhile.
