Light snow and more rain heading to West Berkshire in coming days
The yellow warning for rain, previously enforced by the Met Office for today (Friday) and Sunday, has now been removed, but residents are still being warned that heavy rainfall is expected over the weekend.
The first rain showers are forecast from noon today, and are expected to last until the early hours of tomorrow (Saturday) morning, however the rest of Saturday should be dry yet overcast.
Further rain is expected again on Sunday between noon and 6pm, to turn to sleet and light snow showers between midnight and 9am on Monday, with the rest of the day forecast to be dry and cloudy again.
River levels across West Berkshire are dropping, however a number of flood alerts and warnings are still in place.
An amber flood alert still applies for the River Thames between Pangbourne and Purley and for the River Pang from East Ilsley to Pangbourne and Sulham Brook.
The River Kennet also still has amber flood alerts in place for its tributaries from Berwick Bassett down to Newbury and also from Thatcham to Reading.
The same alert is also still in place for the River Lambourn and its tributaries from Upper Lambourn down to Newbury, however the red warning has now been removed for the River Thames at Purley Village.
Amber warnings for groundwater flooding are also still in place for the Upper Lambourn Valley, including in Great Shefford, and the Upper Aldbourne Valley.
