Dramatic lightning over West Berkshire captured by our readers, after Met Office issued yellow weather warning for thunderstorms

Soaring temperatures yesterday (Sunday) led to a wave of dramatic thunderstorms across West Berkshire.

A yellow weather warning was issued by the Met Office for thunderstorms across the district from late Saturday right through until yesterday night.

It also warned of rain, hail, strong gusts of wind and lightning, but the storms were very localised and many places stayed dry and sunny throughout the weekend.

Some of our readers captured some beautiful images of fork lightning coming down across the area.

The warning came as the UK Health Security Agency also issued an amber heat-health alert for the South East.

It came into force on Friday and remains in place until tomorrow (Tuesday).
