Lightning strike causes train delays

Rail passengers face misery after a lighting strike damaged Southall signals

A LIGHTNING storm has caused delays and cancellations for passengers travelling in and out of Newbury and Reading this evening (Tuesday).

Signals near Southall were damaged following a storm this afternoon, leading to delays between Newbury, Reading, Paddington and other areas.

Delays are expected to last until about 6pm.
