Limited edition book stolen in Tilehurst




Police are appealing for witnesses after a valuable photography book was stolen during a burglary

Thames Valley Police is appealing for the public's help after a limited edition photography book was stolen during a burglary in Tilehurst.

During the early hours of June 18, a house in Chapel Hill was broken into and amongst the items stolen was a limited photography book called Sumo, by famous fashion photographer Helmut Newton.

The book, which is part of a limited edition run of only 1,000 copies produced worldwide, is large, measuring 20 by 27.5 inches and heavy, weighing approximately 66lbs.

When stolen it was still wrapped in its original packaging and stored in a large black artwork case.

The front cover of the book features a black and white photograph of a naked woman.

Anyone with any information about the book, has seen it or knows where it is, is urged to contact PC Helen Purnell at Reading police station on 0845 8 505 505.
