Dog of the Week: The latest dogs looking for their forever homes from Newbury Dogs Trust
Dogs Trust Newbury has a number of dogs at its Hamstead Marshall base who need a new home.
And every Sunday we have been shining a spotlight on one of them to try to help spread the word.
Nationwide, the charity currently has 736 dogs that are looking for a family to join.
You can find out more about adopting a dog by visiting the charity’s website.
Today we have cute little Junior to introduce you to.
Junior is a five-year-old Jack Russel Terrier who came into the trust’s care after being found as a stray.
They said he “is a sweet boy who enjoys going for long, sniffy walks with his handlers”.
Junior does have a luxating patella and is on pain relief for this, which he will need to continue to take.
As he came into the trust’s care as a stray they have a limited history on him, which means they would ideally like to find him a new home with older children.
“Junior would like to live in a home where he is the only pet, although he could have some calm walking companions when out and about,” they added.
“Typical to Junior's breed, he does have a prey drive so adopters will need to be willing to keep him on lead when out on walks.”
