Little Tots get outstanding praise
A West Berkshire nursery is described as "superb" by Ofsted inspectors
A NURSERY in Burghfield which has introduced yoga as part of its activities for children is celebrating after recording top marks in an inspection from Ofsted.
Little Tots Nursery, in Church Lane, was given an outstanding grade in every area it was judged following a visit from inspectors in December.
Published on January 13, the report by Mandy Gammon said the 52 children aged from two to four thrived in the nursery where they played a dynamic role.
“The success of the nursery is superb, due to the drive and commitment of a dedicated enthusiastic staff team who work seamlessly together,” the report stated.
“They excel in their work in order to meet the individual needs of each child in their care. Highly effective collaborative partnerships between parents, carers and other professionals ensure the needs of each child are met extremely well,” it added.
Nursery manager Nina Fortuna said the nursery was constantly trying to push boundaries in order to cater for the children, which saw unique activities frequently brought in.
“The children were very busy and they took part in a lot of activities. We have just introduced yoga for the little ones which is really popular.
“We do our own music sessions and try to take the children out as much as possible as we think that is very important.”
The success was attributed to the hard work of the staff and team work between the staff and the parents.
“We must keep going and not rest on our laurels, the children come in and change so we have to keep up to this standard in the future and keep making sure the children's needs,” she said.
