Local artists fill Highclere chapel




Group show this weekend part of Hants Open Studios

LOCAL group Made in the Hood are exhibiting their art and handmade crafts over two floors in Westridge Studio, a charming converted chapel in Highclere. Paintings and prints by Jane Vince, Carolyn Towers-Wood, Susan Line and Pearl Hailstone, silk scarves and gifts by Helen Mortimer, landscape photography by Simon Ball, animal sculptures by Pat Clarke, ceramics and tableware by Roelofs & Rubens & Teresa Munn and beautiful glassware by Julie Smith. A roosting bat proved to be an added attraction on Sunday.The exhibition is part of the Hampshire Open Studios programme, where more than 200 artists and makers across
Hampshire open their doors for a week to show their work and talk to visitors about what inspires them, and how they create their work. Visitors can follow one of eight trails across Hampshire until August 31.

Westridge Studio is situated in Andover Road, Highclere RG209QS. The exhibition is open today (Friday) to Monday 10am-4pm. Free entry.
