Local school to sing for the BBC
More than 40 school pupils from St Bartholomew’s School sang “Carol of the Bells” last week with filming already wrapped at the Luker Hub in the school for the programme which will be broadcast on BBC One’s South Today news programme on Monday.
Head of Expressive Arts at the school Clive Grant said: “This was very exciting and also a fantastic experience for students to work with a professional film crew. We have been rehearsing “Carol of the Bells” for our school Christmas Carol Service and were delighted to be asked to participate in the BBC One South Today’s festive season.
“Although it was a very cold evening when the filming took place, the students thoroughly enjoyed the event, especially when special effects were used to create a winter fog.”
The carol singing will be broadcast on Monday December 22 with the choir composed of all year groups aged between 11 and 18.
