Local train services could be hit by bad weather after Christmas break
South West Trains were not operating any services yesterday (Christmas Day), or today (Boxing Day), but say maintenance teams were working throughout both days at nine separate locations, carrying out repairs, following bad weather earlier this week.
The company’s statement continued:
“We anticipate most routes will be open when train services resume on Friday December 27.
However further adverse weather is expected that day, so it is possible that services in the am will be disrupted.
Full details will be published Thursday December 26.”
Rail users should be aware that major engineering work is taking place at London Waterloo from December 27 to 29, which will affect many routes/platforms. Platforms one to nine will be closed.
First Great Western Trains had not flagged up any problems with services yesterday (December 25)
