Long-serving volunteer retires from Newbury RDA
A volunteer has retired after many years of service.
Mandy Bradley has retired after spending 17 years volunteering at Newbury Riding for the Disabled in Hampstead Norreys.
She volunteered in the Tuesday morning class and her colleagues will miss help, cheerfulness and cakes.
“Mandy was a great baker of delicious cakes,” said trustee Lindsay Morris. “Over the years, she has assisted many young children with their riding.
“Both they and the ponies will miss her.”
Newbury RDA is a voluntary organisation dedicated to enabling children with special needs to ride and enjoy the benefits this provides.
More than 60 children attend each week during term time and volunteers are always needed to assist with the children, ponies, or just the general upkeep.
Previous riding or volunteering experience is not required as all training is provided.
