Lorry spill shuts all lanes on M4 westbound between Newbury and Hungerford Newtown

UPDATE, 7pm: Two lanes on the M4 remain closed this evening after a lorry crash in the earlier hours of this morning.

There are currently around three miles of tailbacks, causing 45-minute delays to journeys through West Berkshire.

The lane closures are in place on the eastbound carriageway between junction 14 for Hungerford and junction 13 at Chieveley.

The M4 is currently shut through part of West Berkshire.

The westbound carriageway is currently closed between junctions 13 (Newbury) and 14 (Hungerford Newtown) due to a collision involving a lorry which has crossed through the central reservation barrier.

The vehicle’s fuel tank ruptured, causing a large diesel spillage.
