Crew manager of Blue Watch at Newbury Fire Station, Chris Cound, said two pumps were called from Newbury at 9.30am, to a lorry fire on the junction of the A339 and St John’s Road.
“It was a small fire on the brakes, which the driver had put out using a bottle of Coke,” said Mr Cound.
Firefighters left the scene at 10am.
