Lots to do in West Berkshire today (Sat)





IT is an annual event run by Barclay’s and will feature free entertainment and activities both inside and outside its Parkway branch.
Meanwhile, families can take a tour around the Five a Day market garden in Englefield today as it opens to the public for a fun day.
Opening at 12 noon, fresh fruit and vegetables grown at the site can be purchased, as well as plants and flowers.
A number of free family activities will be available, including stone sculpture demonstrations and pond dipping.

If getting up close and personal withy creepy crawlies will keep your little ones entertained, then head to Thatcham Nature Discovery Centre between 2pm and 4pm for a big bug hunt.
Guests will be challenged to search its woodland and meadow areas to see what can be found with sweep nets, bug boxes and magnifying glasses.
Or for something more cute and fluffy, mobile petting farm Farms 2 Ewe will be at Hungerford Cobb’s Farm Shop and Kitchen between 11am and 5pm, with free entry. A lunchtime barbecue will also be available.
Homemade cakes, sweets, preserves and locally sourced fruit, vegetables, artisan breads, gifts and more will be available at the weekly village market in Aldworth.
It runs from 9.30am to 12 noon in Aldworth village hall.
A caravan and motorhome show is available at Newbury Showground. It runs from 10am to 4.30pm and camping is available.
Day tickets cost £7 for adults, £6 for senior citizens and entry for children is free. Dogs on leads are welcome.
Between 10.30am and 5pm today (Sat) and tomorrow, the Church of the Ascension, Burghclere, will be displaying World War One memorabilia./ Burghclere and Newtown handbell ringers will be on hand to entertain, with a village walk and teas, and quarter peal of church bells, to mark the occasion.
There will be a collection for the Royal British Legion, and tea and coffee will be available.
