THERE is a lot going on in West Berkshire today (Sun). Why not make the most of this warmer spring weather?

The All About Dogs show is open at Newbury showground with lots of canine-based activities on offer, including entertaining demonstrations, have a go games and competitions.

You could enter the cutest puppy parade, for pooches aged between six and 12 months. All puppies will receive a rosette and a certificate for participating.

Parking is free and dogs are allowed on leads. Child tickets cost £5 and adults and OAPs £9 on the gate.

Also at the Newbury Showground is the All About Gardening show, featuring a variety of trees, shrubs, flowers and pot plants which green-fingered enthusiasts can explore, as well as ornaments, water features and more.

There will be a number of stands in the shopping villages and indoor shopping marquees offering the latest product launches and useful gardening tools, gadgets and plants at special event prices.

In the craft and gift pavilion, visitors can pick-up homewares, crafts and gifts including handcrafted jewellery, metal work and artwork created in Berkshire.

There will also be a food and drink festival offering cheeses, meats, fine wines, pickles, chutneys and more.

The giant Easter egg hunt continues in Newbury town centre. Collect your entry form from either Newbury Visitor Information Centre or The Easter Zone in Parkway Shopping Centre and then follow the trail of clues to find the giant eggs, decorated by some of the local primary schools and nurseries, and work out the caption from the egg code letters.

Entry forms can be collected from 10am daily and need to be returned by 4pm. The last date to return is Sat 18th, by 4pm.

Return your entry form to the Parkway unit for your chance to win some fantastic prizes including a £250 John Lewis at Home voucher.

Head to Basildon Park for a walk among its beautiful spring bluebells and buttercups. Cream teas are available, or you could opt to follow one of the waymarked trails through the 400 acres of historic parkland.

Normal admission charges to the park apply, starting at £7.20 for an adult, £3.60 for a child and £19 for a family ticket.
