There were 13 visitors in all and the year six pupils helped the kitchen staff prepare a healthy vegetable soup.
This was followed by a choice of homemade rhubarb crumble, or apple and blackberry pie.
To finish off cheese and biscuits and coffee or tea were offered.
Denise Weston, headteacher, said: “This was a lovely social occasion for the residents and the afternoon was finished off by the children from year one to year six performing the harvest songs they have been practising.
“Community links such as these are beneficial for visitors and the children and a lovely afternoon was had by all."
