Love's Kitchen director to attend Newbury screening

Director James Hacking will answer questions about his British film at the Corn Exchange later this month

FANS of British cinema can direct their questions about a new film, which was inspired by a West Berkshire publican, straight to the director at a special screening in Newbury.

Later this month, James Hacking (pictured, right, with chef Gordon Ramsay, middle, and cinematographer Jordan Cushing), the director of a new UK independent film, Love's Kitchen, will be holding a question and answer session following a screening of the film at the Corn Exchange, Newbury.

Love's Kitchen is out on general release on June 24 and is loosely based on West Berkshire publican John Haley's move from a pub in Crystal Palace, London, to The Old Boot in Stanford Dingley 15 years ago.

Mr Haley, a friend of the Duchess of Cambridge, has said he will be attending the premiere of the film in London.

For Mr Hacking, whose parents Chris and Caroline live locally, in Brimpton, Love's Kitchen is his debut feature film and he will attend the Corn Exchange screening to chat to the audience on June 28.

The film starts at 6.05pm and the question and answer session will start at approximately 7.30pm but is only available to those who have a ticket to the screening.

Love's Kitchen will also be shown at the same theatre on June 26 and 29. For tickets call the box office on (01635) 522733.
