Lower Way campaign group calling for volunteers
West Berkshire Council’s call for new housing sites has identified agricultural land to the south of Lower Way to accommodate up to 87 homes.
The site is the council’s only preferred option for Thatcham.
Residents and walkers have formed The Lower Way Field Action Group to save the “vital asset” for the community.
It is now seeking six elected members for a working party made up of residents, Thatcham Town councillors and Thatcham Vision.
The next meeting will take place on Thursday, November 13.
The Working Party meetings will be every four to six weeks.
Those wanting to be representatives should contact workingparty@stoplowerwayfield.co.uk
The elections will take place at a public meeting at Precision Dental Studio, Rivermead, at 7pm tonight (Friday).
