M4 closed in both directions between Junction 13 and Junction 14 after 'firework explosion' in Westbrook




UPDATE: The road is now open.

The M4 is closed in both directions between Junction 13 -and Junction 14 due to a large building fire near the M4.

The blaze, which broke out in Westbrook, Newbury has caused debris to land in the carriageway.

Diversion routes have been set up with National Highways advising road users travelling eastbound are advised to follow the hollow circle diversion symbol on road signs.

It has said informed motorists to exit at Junction 14 and take A338 south.

At the roundabout in Eddington take the first exit on to the A4 eastbound towards Newbury.

At Speen join the A34 northbound and remain on A4 to Junction13 of M4.

Road users travelling westbound are advised to follow the hollow square diversion symbol on road signs

It informed motorists to exit at J13 and take A34 south.

Exit at Speen junction and take the A4 westbound (towards Hungerford).

At the roundabout in Eddington take the second exit on to the A338 Eddington Hill and remain on the A338 to Junction 14 of M4.
